Exiting the RenalTouch™ Program

How can I exit the RenalTouch™ program?

  • To EXIT the RenalTouch™ program and access the Windows® desktop, use the quick keyboard command CTRL + Q.

How can I restart the RenalTouch™ program from the Windows desktop?

  • Touch on the RenalTouch™ icon on the Windows® desktop to RESTART the RenalTouch™ program.

Power Problems

Why is there no power?

  • Check to see that the plug is firmly inserted in to a live electrical outlet.


  • Turn the system off and wait about 30 seconds. Turn RenalTouch™ on.

  • If there is still no power, try a different outlet.

  • Check to make sure the keyboard is properly connected to the RenalTouch™ Screen Unit.

  • If the keyboard connection is not secure before the power is turned on, the RenalTouch™ Screen Unit may have trouble powering up. Secure the connection and restart the machine.

  • If there is still no power, call our technical support line at (866) 954-3639.

What should I do if the computer crashes or locks up?

What should I do if RenalTouch™ displays an error message?

  • Write down the error message.

Functional Problems

Why isn’t the RenalTouch™ program proceeding automatically?

  • Press forward or next button.

Why doesn’t the movie stop when I press the PAUSE button?

  • Wait until the end of the video and then press pause. This is part of the program design to keep an entire concept together.

Why does the program go back more than one screen when the BACK button is pressed?

  • This is part of the program design to keep an entire concept together.

Why does the program go forward more than one screen when the FORWARD button is pressed?

  • This is part of the program design to keep an entire concept together.

Why is no answer given in the Knowledge Checkpoint at the beginning of the chapter?

  • This is part of the program design. RenalTouch™ is collecting data about the patient’s baseline knowledge. The answers will be displayed and explained at the end of the chapter.

Printing

Please consult the included manufacturer printer manual.

Why is the printer not printing?

  • Check to make sure that the printer plug is firmly inserted into a live electrical outlet.


  • If the problem still exists, turn the printer power off, turn RenalTouch™ power off, wait 10 seconds. Turn the printer power back on and turn the RenalTouch™ power back on.

The printer is printing, but the type is hard to read. How can I fix this?

  • Change the ink cartridge.


  • The printer is printing, but the report does not look like what is on the screen.

  • Turn the printer power off, wait 10 seconds and turn the printer power back on and reprint the report.

  • If the problem is not solved, call our technical support line at (866) 954-3639 and have the printed report available to describe to the agent.

Sound

Why is there no sound?

  • Make sure that the volume button on the computer is turned all the way up.

There is sound, but it is very faint. What could cause this?

  • Make sure the headphones are plugged all the way into the audio plug on the computer.

  • If the problem is not solved, turn the computer off, wait 30 seconds and turn the computer back on.
